Interventions targeting people living with HIV
Treatment magic for people living with HIV
Treatment, Care and Support enhances an increase in the number of children and adult LHIV retained on treatment and sustain the gains made in the care and treatment component of the HIV response towards achieving the second and third ‘95s’ of the HIV cascade. Through engagement of community volunteers attached to the facilities to support in defaulter tracing, Globcom enhances increased uptake of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART).
Through the trained community volunteers acting as champions in 9-facilities, line listing is done of the ART defaulters and ensure that they are retained in care.
In the quarter a total of 176 defaulters were line listed of which 174 were returned back to care with 1 being reported dead and 1 as a lost to follow up.
The tracing is seen as a great impact in the retention in care and the positivity towards ART amongst our communities.
The ART literacy training conducted in December 2022 has resulted to increased awareness on ART amongst the PLHIVs in the program
